Go Pirates!
We never wanted to be the sports junkies that had their child in every sport at a ridiculous age. Well... just for the record Brodie initiated the t-ball talk and as you see convinced us. With his dad as coach and me as dugout mom, what could go wrong. Sounds like famous last words right?Actually, so far so good! Brodie usually listens well during a game, not true for practices. We are finally adjusting to always being somewhere on a Saturday morning. And it is definitely the beginning to a long road ahead.
Happy Easter!
I love Easter because it feels like winter is finally coming to an end! It was a busy holiday as usual, especially with 3 separate egg hunts. Brodie's first egg hunt was at mdo with his friends, which was similar to a relay race. Then he enjoyed another egg hunt in Bea's & Pop's backyard with his cousins. And finally on Easter Sunday he and Emma hunted for the "golden" egg.
Christmas Day
Christmas is finally here! I think Brodie was the first to wake up, I remember he ran thru the house yelling "Santa Came"! He opened his presents quick this time and even helped open a few others. Our morning was coming to an end, when Brodie spotted something outside. He raced to the back door, and was thrilled to see a power wheels Lightning Mcqueen car. This was the first toy on his Christmas list, which he began in October. He made several morning practice laps, and by the afternoon Brodie decided to be a little adventurous. He made many attempts at driving his car up the basketball goal! (luckily he wasn't hurt) I've always said he will probably grow up to be a stunt man and he proves me right weekly. It was definitely the best gift since he kept the whole family laughing and very entertained:)
Spoiled Rotten!
We always travel out of town for Christmas, and because of that we exchange gifts with the Smiths before we leave. This year we celebrated at our house and were quite surprised by how long it took "Bea & Pops" to unload their car. (I will never be able to convince them that he would be just as happy with 2 presents) Brodie enjoyed opening his gifts, but LOVED placing them in an organized pile. He wouldn't play with anything until all were unwrapped, and then he would make a selection from his stash. I am very fortunate to have such a great relationship with my in laws, and thrilled they think Brodie hangs the moon. Because we certainly think so too!Polar Express
Tonight was filled with excitement and holiday cheer. We all met at the Smiths for a quick supper and Brodie exchanged gifts with his cousins. After a few quick pics and a little play time we all made our way to the train station. The children boarded the Polar Express with rosy cheeks and Christmas jammies. Finally, after a story and a few rounds of jingle bells, Santa arrived on our train car. Brodie had no problem telling the elves and even Mrs. Claus what he wished for, but when St. Nick asked.....nothing. Oh well, I'm sure the circled toys in the Toys R Us ad will be very helpful:)
Baking with Bea
We started the afternoon by meeting Brodie's Bea and his cousins for lunch. After more playing than eating, we finally went to my in laws home. The kids were busy little elves baking and decorating Christmas goodies and painting wooden ornaments. This was an afternoon planned by my mother in law to create special Christmas memories with her grandchildren. And any time these 3 get together it is sure to be quite an event!!!
